First to see Castle Howard, then across to Eileen & David with a trip on
the Settle to Carlisle railway line before heading for home via
Liverpool's Tate at the Albert Dock to see the latest Pablo Picasso
exhibition.
Such busy days travelling with so much to see
around the North of England. The beauty of the scenic railway journey
along the line over Ripplehead Viaduct will be a memory forever.
First to see where Brideshead Revisited was made and is still helping
the restoration of such a fine structure and gardens. Statuary, layout
and furniture is not a patch on that famous house with fountains in
Derbyshire.
Over the Pennines to visit and stay a couple of nights with Eileen and
David in Hest Bank. The trip was made extra special by a decision to do
the Settle to Carlisle rayway journey in the footsteps of Michael
Portillo. The countryside was truely spectacular and the chance to see
the Ripplehead Viaduct from the rear of the train was a treat beyond my
dreams of this journey.
The conclude our whistle-stop trip we visited a local gastro-pub by
David and Eileen's relaxing canels then popped in to the Tate at
Liverpool to see the latest UK Picasso exhibition - on the way home.
